I finished a project today I've been working on since Monday. I thought I never get done. As it is a secret project, I can upload pictures only after my partner receives it. So I was a bit confused about what to do and upload.

Sew & Tell Fridays is a great opportunity to keep motivated and get to know so many amazing and talented crafters from all over the world. I'm hooked and sure I'd love to be part of it! Then the idea came pretty spontaneous - a sleeve for new MacBook! My daughter {as it's her laptop} chose Sandy Henderson prints and after less than an hour it was done! Quick project made from less than two two fat quarters - happy me. Though I'm not sure if I'll ever do top stitches again, I defo need more practice. Anyway, I love how it turned out. By the way, it's my own pattern and I might sew more for my land-based shop.

New work-in-progress pics on my Flickr. As I meant before, I'm making a fabric banner for an advertising agency. It'll be a whole sentence in German, "Ideen kommen nie aus der Mode" which means something like "Ideas will never be out". I'm at the 5th step of 12 (I wrongly meant somewhere there were 10). Still playing with fabrics, what you see is not the end version. I'm not happy with lilac & pink, though, and will replace them. More pictures tomorrow on my Flickr.

Handmade Banner

Now here I am. What do you think how many steps you need to make a fabric garland? Hm? You need ten twelve. TWELVE! I'm at the third *sigh*. By the way, there is a tutorial on your right.

I got to re-organise my craft desk as well. Checked pre-loved Brother (it sews very well!) I've bought back in January. {Go check pictures on my Flickr!} Now I got an extra machine to sew zippers on and don't need to change foots anymore!
I also got more than 30 templates at local Bauhaus for my entire product line. First cutting test well done, I sewed a pencil case for myself.

Working more efficiently is all you need.

New Project...

...finished! My first oven mitts which was a huge fun to sew. I traced my old oven mitts, added seam allowance, appliqued, quilted, and that's the result. I used Windham print I've brought from a craft fair in Cologne November 2008 and wonderful kitchen print I've got from a private swap with Syl in Denmark, a Flickr friend of mine.

It was a surprise for ML's Grandma whom we met yesterday. She was happy + we were happy = happy family.

Reversible Mutter-Kind-Pass-Hüllen!

Which means mother-child-passport case. Such a book gets every pregnant woman in Austria. First big batch of MKP cases, they are all reversible. More pictures, as always, on my Flickr.

I still have to catch up other things like

* make a mini quilt for Doll Quilt Swap 8 {ditto} --> done
* an oven mitt for ML's Grandma {I want to surprise her with matching potholders! And I wished I had Emmeline apron pattern right now!} --> done
* a secret project for my swap partner --> done
* take pictures of new {paper related crafts} things --> done

* continue blogging in German.

Thrifting & Good News

I was on a flea market last Sunday and found this beauty, pre-loved Brother sewing machine! I got it for 30 euros which is an affordable price.

Always wanted a second baby, in case my first one will get broken or to sew zippers only so I don't have to change foots all the time.

The lady who sold me this baby would like to sell her other, a serious one, a Singer industrial! For 400 euros only! My local retailer sells similar machine for 1500. *Sigh*.

First Project...

...in 2010: PJ trousers for my daughter {and even a pair for myself}. I didn't sew clothes for ages, but it was like riding a bike. Phew.

Next project is a mini quilt for DQS8 (Doll Quilt Swap #8), we are 171 participants over at Flickr from all over the world. I'm really excited to get started! More will follow.

Crowded Craft Desk At Home

At long, long last I changed layout settings on my Flickr, so I can continue posting directly from Flickr which is way easier for me to keep blogging! Hurray! Not a remarkable step for the mankind, but for me.
So, back to my desk chaos which, honestly, is not chaotic, just crowded (thanks, Vanna, I was looking for this word!). I hope I won't stay here for long.
It makes my heart flip over each time when I see it, but it doesn't help me to awake from my hibernating yet. I just take a break and finish here and there pretty small bits of crafts. It's not the end of the world, I'll come back. Some day...
